HEAT STRESS STANDARD UPDATE
Last fall, OSHA announced intent to start work on a federal standard in concert with enhanced enforcement efforts—including a National Emphasis Program (NEP) that leverages the agency's General Duty Clause to prioritize heat-related inspections at indoor facilities and outdoor worksites.
In addition to emphasis on training and administrative controls like acclimatization, work/rest protocols and accessibility to water and shade, compliance officers will be guided to make recommendations on appropriate body cooling PPE.
Major corporations realized the “Just in Time” ”JIT” concepts they had implemented failed miserably under the pressure of the pandemic. As such all companies are reevaluating what are the new inventory levels they must maintain to prevent the service failures to their customers.
